Codman Square Farmers Market

The Codman Square Farmers Market provides the community with fresh, local, organic produce; added value products from local vendors; education on nutrition; activities in the Codman Square Park and information about the community.

We started the Codman Square Farmers Market in 2008 to help bring healthy food options to Codman Square. We are happy to say we are accomplishing our goal!  Although there is much work still to be done, let’s take a moment and review some of the success.

When we first started the Codman Square Farmers Market, there were barely 10 farmers markets in the city of Boston, now there are about 30 farmers markets throughout the city of Boston. We keep our market vibrant and strong with food demonstrations, family activities, free lunch for children, fitness activities and community building and organizing opportunities. We have also increased the use of the Codman Square Park and led park improvement initiatives.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturdays!

B.O.L.D Teens

Be Bold!

The B.O.L.D. Teens (Breath of Life Dorchester Teens) a youth-led group that focuses on health, environmental and social justice by identifying and addressing the safety and health concerns of our community through education, service and advocacy. The Codman Square Farmers Market relies on the B.O.L.D. Teens  to help run the market. The teens set up the market, run the Iggy's Bread table, pass out flyers, assist customers, and promote the market. Without their help this market would not be possible.
