OASIS (Opportunity Affirmation Sustainability Inspiration Success) on Ballou is an urban agriculture project that represents a unique opportunity for transformative placemaking at 100 Ballou Ave. in the Woodrow-Mountain neighboirhood of Dorchester, on a long-neglected and vacant 20,000 SF lot previously owned by the City of Boston. OASIS on Ballou incorporates urban agriculture with sustainable community development, social equity, and social entrepreneurship. Our vision is to create a community resource that promotes active living, improves resident health, and creates a safe place for children to play, learn, and grow.

We are a small family owned and operated farm located just south of Lowell. We have a variety of vegetables for sale and u-pick that we grow on the farm.

Our mission is to make breads of the highest quality and then deliver them daily to our customers with the highest standards of service and integrity.

We use the finest quality ingredients that we can obtain. "finest" ingredients in this case is defined by products that have not been chemically treated in any way.

Whenever possible it means organic produce, organic grains, and organic flour. at the very least it means pure and natural ingredients ("as close to the tree as possible").

In this way, we can ensure the quality of the bread while supporting the growth of the organic products industry through our purchases.

We are constantly trying to balance using high-quality ingredients with keeping our breads affordable.

The Dorchester Food Co-op is a grassroots initiative to build a community & worker-owned grocery store that makes healthy food accessible and advances economic opportunity through neighborhood engagement. The Dorchester Food Co-op envisions a diverse inclusive community with opportunities for employment, ownership, and access to healthy food. As a food co-op, we will serve and reflect the wide variety of cultural, racial, and socio-economic groups that make up the neighborhoods of Boston.
